Specifications
What is a stud bolt?
Threaded rod, also known as a stud,is a relatively long rod that is threaded on both ends;the thread may extend along the complete length of the rod. They are designed to be used in tension.Threaded rod in bar stock form is often called all-thread.
How are stud bolts measured?
Stud bolt length is commonly measured end to end or first to first. The length of stud bolt, measured parallel to the axis, is the distance from first thread to first thread. First thread is defined as the intersection of the major diameter of the thread with the base of the point.
To measure the diameter of screws and bolts, you measure the distance from the outer thread on one side to the outer thread on the other side. This is called the major diameter and will usually be the proper size of the bolt.
